Palmitoyl Pentapeptide-4 is a Matrikine (a peptide-like fragment that acts as a messenger in the natural repair of tissues) signaling peptide composed of Tyrosine, Glutamic acid, Aspartic acid and Valine. It mimics the protein fragments that act on the DEJ layer in the human body. By acting on dermal fibroblasts, it promotes the synthesis of macromolecules such as collagen types I, III and IV, fibronectin and glycosaminoglycans.
