Hexamethyldisiloxane (silicone ether, MM capping agent), colorless transparent liquid, easy to deliquesce. Insoluble in water, soluble in a variety of organic solvents. Used as silicone oil, silicone rubber, medicine, gas chromatography stationary liquid, analytical reagent, water repellent, etc. It is made by hydrolysis of trimethylchlorosilane.
