What is Fiber Distribution Box (FDB)

FDB fiber distribution box is a wall mounted or pole mounted box with or without splitter, which is suitable for indoor and outdoor applications. It is a common product in FTTH and FTTB. It can protect the connection point of optical cable to the user, make the access point of optical cable stable, dust-proof and waterproof, and minimize the interference of external environment on the optical cable signal.

Fiber Distribution Box (FDB) Installation

The pigtail should be inserted into a suitable adapter first during installation. Pigtails must be properly marked to avoid problems after splicing them with the fiber of the distribution cable. Otherwise, the visual fault locator must be used to identify the connection. The pigtails shall be placed around the supports on both sides of the tray with pallets. Use cable ties to manage cables properly.The end of the cable must be inserted into the box, with the excess fiber wrapped around the special ring on the tray. The length shall allow the end of the fiber to be spliced with pigtails outside the box. Splicing is performed by the splicer. The spare length of the cable shall allow the box to be pulled out of the rack cabinet.
