Application
A Vacutainer blood collection tube is a specialized container crafted from glass or plastic, fitted with a colored rubber stopper to create a vacuum seal. This seal simplifies the process of drawing and managing precise liquid volumes, such as blood. The stopper's color signifies the presence of additives in the tube, crucial for stabilizing and preserving collected specimens for subsequent laboratory tests. Additionally, these tubes may incorporate safety features and labeling options to enhance tracking and identification in healthcare environments.

Description of Test
Vacutainer needles feature dual ends, one encased in a thin rubber coating for safety. When the needle is affixed to the translucent plastic holder, the rubber-coated end is securely within the holder, leaving the exposed needle ready for vein insertion. Upon insertion of a vacutainer tube into the holder, the inner needle punctures its rubber cap, initiating blood flow into the tube via vacuum pressure. Once filled, the tube is replaced, and the process repeats. The volume of air evacuated from the tube governs the amount of blood it can hold before flow cessation.

Actual Test Process
To conduct the test, place the pre-evacuated tube into the testing system's puncture site, ensuring pressure alignment with the vacuum chamber. Adjust pressure values within the tube according to regional altitude variations. After a one-minute interval, determine the drawing volume by measuring the weight difference before and after the test.
