Tetrabutylammonium bromide, as an organic chemical phase transfer catalyst, is used in the synthesis of intermediates such as benzyltriethylammonium chloride, ethyl cinnamate, and pseudopseudorotaxolone, and also in the synthesis of anti-infective drugs such as bacitracin and sultamicillin, and is also used as a catalyst for the synthesis of leptozotocin-type drugs, such as daglitazide and other leptozotocin, which is an anti-diabetic drug with a new mechanism of action.
