Vacuum filtration is highly appreciated by scientists as the ideal technique. Suction is applied to a mixture of liquid and solid to get the fast and efficient results when we need to separate and keep the precipitate safe from a solution.
On the one hand, vacuum filtration has lots of advantages. Gravity filtration uses the force of gravity to pull a solvent through a filter and leave the insoluble solids behind. Vacuum filtration is set up with a Buchner funnel set into a flask with a sidearm to be connected to a vacuum, and the filter paper is placed over the base of a Buchner funnel. Vacuum from Hawach diaphragm vacuum pumps can be applied to pull the liquid through the paper. Due to the force of vacuum, vacuum filtration is faster and more efficient at removing residual liquid and give out a purer solid than gravity filtration.
