Plus de 1300 ans après la série Dragons, les dragons ne sont plus qu'une légende du monde moderne... Mais tout change lorsqu'une anomalie géologique ouvre une immense faille de plusieurs kilomètres de profondeur à la surface de la Terre. Des scientifiques du monde entier se réunissent dans un nouveau centre de recherche pour étudier ce phénomène mystérieux. Finalement, un groupe d'enfants découvrira la vérité sur les dragons et sur leurs secrets. D'Angelo est le fils d'un ancien soldat qui s'occupe de la sécurité du laboratoire. Il est un jeune homme sage et très discipliné. Il est intéressé par la médecine vétérinaire et il devient rapidement le "docteur des dragons" du groupe. Le dragon de D'Angelo, Plowhorn fait partie de l'espèce des Tracker. Le dragon peut bouger ses pattes et sa mâchoire inférieure. Une petite corne sur la tête du dragon sert de selle pour D'Angelo. Avec sa corne, Plowhorn peut faire exploser le grand cristal de roche. La boite contient D'Angelo, Plowhorn ainsi qu'un cristal de nombreux accessoires.
