It is also used for gastrointestinal fistulas, gastrointestinal endocrine tumors such as intestinal vasoactive peptide tumors, gastrinomas, pancreatic hyperglycemic tumors, ectopic ACTH syndrome, carcinoid syndrome, acromegaly, synucleinopathic hyperthyroidism, persistent, intractable diarrhea that occurs after total colon resection, and AIDS-associated diarrhea. Intrathecal injections are used to treat cancer pain.
