If the application is not strict on diameter tolerance and surface finish, the cost of hot rolled bars is lower than that of cold finished bars. Hot rolled bars are ideal materials for many forging and machining applications, such as in fasteners, bolts, connecting rods, hydraulics, fittings, gear blanks, shafts, hubs, pistons, etc.
