- Trifluoromethylnicotinic acid is a light to dark yellow solid that is useful as a synthetic intermediate. It can be used to prepare pyridinecarboxamide as a palindromic inhibitor of HCV NS5B polymerase. It can also be used to synthesize pyrazolylformamide as an inhibitor of Ca2 + release-activated Ca2 + (CRAC) channels.
