the first line of solids control system has been and will continue to be, the shale shaker proper screening of the drilling fluid during this initial removal step is vital to develop efficiency and effectiveness of all downstream solids control equipment in the system. otherwise, the downstream hydrocyclones will simply be overloaded beyond their designed capacity. shale shakers use a vibrating screen surface to conserve the drilling fluid and eject drilled solids. the effects of this shale shakers vibration are described in terms of the g factor, or the function of angular displacement of a screen and square of the rotational speed. angular displacement is achieved by rotating an eccentric mass. most shale shakers are designed to be operated at a specific, fixed g factor by matching the stroke to a given machine's rotational speed. it follows that any deviation in speed will affect the g factor and influences the shaker performance. features of shale shakers: 1. explosion and non-explosion proof electrical systems for 50 or 60 hz 2. deck angle adjustable during operation from –1 to +5 degrees. 3. pretensioned screens with wedge fastening (optional hook strap) 4. a g-force up to 7.6g 5. shaker dimensions and mud inflow level are compatible with most existing mud tank systems. 6. all the two types of elliptical and linear shale shaker can be applied in all kinds of the petroleum drilling machine and drilling fluid circulatory system.
