Basically speaking, when looking for managed switches, there are two types. Smart switches are those with a limited number of configuration options. And they will be a lot more affordable than the fully-managed types. Fully managed solutions are targeted at servers, enterprises and big data centers. The latter are destinied for intensive workloads, huge amount of traffic data transmission where customized and diuversified configuration methods are necessary.
