CE marking
- European certification
- Product certification
- Audio & video
- Household
- Information technology
- Medical
- Telecom
This is the regulatory European product marking allowing access to the EU/EEA member countries (and even some EU candidate countries in Eastern Europe), as dictated by EU Directives and corresponding national regulations.
It is required for a wide range of products, including:
- Electrical consumer products
- Medical equipment
- Machinery
Other facts about the CE-marking:
- The CE-marking is essentially based on the manufacturer's own declaration of conformity with the relevant Directives.
- In the case of some high risk products and where European product standards are not used, the involvement of an authorized Notified Body (or Competent Body) is required as a basis for the manufacturer's Declaration of Conformity (DoC) and for CE-marking of the product.
Nemko's GS-mark
- European certification
- Product certification
- Audio & video
- Household
- Information technology
- Other industries
The GS mark (Geprfte Sicherheit, meaning Tested Safety) is a specific German mark that is used for a wide range of products, including electrical equipment.
The GS mark is owned and monitored by the German safety authorities, but is offered through Nemko. It is highly recognized not only in Germany, but also throughout Europe.
Why choose Nemko's GS mark?
-
- Nemko's GS mark is valid for a period of 5 years and Nemko does not charge annual license fees for manufacturers who apply for the GS mark.
- The GS mark provides reassurance to the end user that your product has been independently certified for its safety.
- With successful testing, Nemko can issue the GS mark along with the CB test certificate and Nemko mark certificate, as well as the EC attestation of conformity for the CE marking at the same time.
Other facts about Nemko's GS mark:
- It is a voluntary certification scheme but requested by the German market in addition to the mandatory CE marking.
- The GS mark covers the European Low Voltage Directive (2006/95/EC) as well as other German and European legal requirements.
- Factory inspection for the GS mark can be combined with the inspection for the Nemko mark when concerning the same factory.
CB RoHS (Hazardous Substance Testing Service)
- European certification
- Product certification
- Audio & video
- Household
- Information technology
The Hazardous Substance Testing Service (HSTS) is offered as a part of the IECEE CB scheme. It is a means of determining and reporting the level of hazardous substances in materials and components used in electrical equipment.
Why use this CB scheme HS Testing Service?
- The requirements for hazardous substances vary in different regions and countries around the world.
- Laboratories also use different test methods that provide varying test results.
- Market surveillance on the use of HS (Hazardous Substances) is intensifying.
- Getting an internationally recognized Statement of Testing Results
This means that there is a major need for reliable tools to verify and demonstrate the level of HS in electrical products. The IECEE HSTS were developed with this need in mind.
Tests are performed according to the latest IEC International Standards on hazardous substances as defined by IEC 62321.
The Statements of Test Results are issued online by Nemko on the IECEE website.
