8-Hydroxyquinoline

8-Hydroxyquinoline is a white to light yellow or light beige liquid that is an intermediate in the halogenated quinoline class of anti-amoebic drugs, including quinolizidine, chloroiodoquinoline, and diiodoquinoline. This kind of drug exerts anti-amoebic effect by inhibiting intestinal commensal bacteria, which is effective for amoebic dysentery and has no effect on extra-intestinal amoebic protozoa. In recent years, foreign countries reported that this kind of drug can cause subacute spinal optic neuropathy, so the drug has been banned in Japan and the United States, diiodoquinoline caused by this disease than chloroiodoquinoline is less common. 8-hydroxyquinoline is also the intermediate of dyes and pesticides. Its sulfate and copper salts are excellent antiseptic, disinfectant and mold inhibitor. The product is a complex titration indicator for chemical analysis. Uses8-Hydroxyquinoline can be used in the manufacture of dyes, pesticides and pharmaceutical intermediates; used as a complexation indicator and color layer analysis reagents; can also be used as an inhibitor of RNA synthesis, Trichophytonmentagrophytes, Myrotheciumverrucaria, and Trichodermaviride have a bactericidal inhibition.
