PIPE MAKING LINES

Known as tube mill or pipe mill, is special equipment used to produce round pipe, square, rectangle, oval and other pipe shapes. Pipe mills are capable to make a number of shapes directly by integrating high accurate roll forming devices with computer-controlled systems. No need to departure from round shapes. Welding devices are key component a pipe mills.

For carbon steel, the welding is better performed by high frequency welders. These equipment heats the metal joints with high frequency induction fields controlled by micro computing systems. PLC allows working continuously by ongoing diagnosis systems and monitoring with LCD displays. Modern high frequency induction heating devices comes with small-harmonic interference to boast no pollution without high voltage.

For petroleum pipe production, hot-wire GTAW technology is used to weld simultaneously two layers of corrosion-resistant alloy at the interior of the pipe to avoid chemical reaction (with hydrogen sulfide or carbon dioxide) which otherwise leaves the steel brittle and susceptible to cracking and failure.

To make in other metals EMPT (electromagnetic pulse welding technique) is recommended. EMPT relies on the phenomena of oxidation chipping by severe plastic deformation of the interfacial zone and the particle blow-out caused by the air between two joints compressed and accelerated due to the movement of the flyer.
