It can provide a stable weak alkaline environment (7.0-9.1), and the pH value of all buffers depends on temperature and concentration. For Tris HCl buffer, the pH increases by about 0.03 units for every 1℃ increased in temperature and decreases by 0.03-0.05 units for dilute every 10 times.
